Privacy Policy

1. What This Extension Does

eBay Variation Counter is a Chrome extension that:

• Reads variation data (e.g. Size, Color) from your eBay Purchase History pages.
• Counts and displays how many of each variation you have sold.
• Injects a convenience button on eBay item listing pages that links to the Purchase History view for that item.

2. Data We Collect

We collect no data whatsoever.

• No personal information is collected.
• No browsing history is recorded.
• No eBay account details, order data, or product information is stored or transmitted.
• No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting is sent anywhere.

All processing happens locally in your browser. The data read from the eBay page is used only to display results in the extension popup and is immediately discarded when you close the popup or navigate away.

3. Permissions Used

The extension requests only the minimum permissions needed to function:

• activeTab — Allows the extension to interact with the eBay tab you currently have open. It cannot access any other tabs.
• scripting — Allows the extension to read page content from your active eBay tab in order to count variations. No scripts are injected without your direct action (clicking the extension icon).
• host_permissions (ebay.* domains) — Limits operation exclusively to eBay marketplaces. The extension cannot access any non-eBay websites.

4. Third-Party Services

The extension popup loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) for display purposes. This is a standard web font request. No user data is passed in these requests beyond the standard information included in any HTTPS request (your IP address and browser version). Refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle font requests.

The extension does not use any other third-party services, APIs, SDKs, or tracking tools.

5. Data Storage

This extension does not use chrome.storage, localStorage, IndexedDB, cookies, or any other storage mechanism. No data is persisted between sessions.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with any third party — because we do not collect any data in the first place.

7. Children's Privacy

This extension is intended for eBay sellers managing their own listings. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date above and, where possible, notify users through the Chrome Web Store update mechanism. Continued use of the extension after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
